Cornwall and Devon Butterflies Update

During the last few days, on the few occasions the sun has broken through, good numbers of butterflies have miracuously appeared in the garden. The second generation of Small Pearl-bordered Fritillary has been much stronger than the first generation with counts in excess of 20, Silver Washed Fritillary numbers are building well into double figures, the latest generations of Holly Blue and Common Blue are also more numerous than generations earlier in the year. A few Red Admirals are starting to show and the first Gatekeepers have emerged. All we need is some sunshine !
